Cheesequake State Park
Cheesequake State Park is another state park that was developed with the help of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Just like how the CCC helped the other parks, they helped with this park the same way. The CCC built trails, shelters, cabins, sitting areas, planted trees, etc. The park was aquired as open land by the state in 1938 and it was opened to the public on June 22, 1940.
"Cheesequake" comes from a Lenni Lenape word, Cheseh-oh-ke, which means "upland."
